Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Norma Bowers Medlock. Mrs. Mahaffey was a retired textile employee, and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five daughters and two sons; and eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Beulah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Mattison officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, July 30, 2002, at Cannon Funerals and Cremations in Simpsonville.
The family is at the residence.
