Fond du Lac - John M. Stack, aged 75, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 93 Fifth street, this city. While he had been in ill health for the past two years his condition did not become serious until about six weeks ago. The couple resided on the homestead in the town of Osceola until four years ago when they moved to this city. Mr. Stack was an active citizen and was prominent in political life of the county in which he resided. He served on the district school board in Osceola and held other township offices. He was town supervisor for several years in the late 80's and represented that district as a member of the county board in 1897 and 1898. In 1893 he was elected to the Wisconsin assembly from the second Fond du Lac county district and served one term in the lower house of the legislature. Later he was twice a candidate for county supervisor, once from Osceola and the last time from the Tenth ward of this city, but was defeated on each occasion. Mr. Stack was a member of Fond du Lac Council No. 664, Knights of Columbus, and of the Holy Name society of Our Lady of Angels church in the town of Osceola.
