His first wife Alma died 15 Mar 1926 and later married to Ada Ethel Marshall 7 Jul 1928 at the First Presbyterian Church in King County, Washington, and shortly later had one son.

Paul had been a painter by trade and known to have raised chickens and is said that at one time he later owned and ran a fishing village at Point Loma Texas, and finally retired with his wife in San Leon.

He passed in Galveston at John Sealy Hospital on Monday 9 Nov 1964 and was interred 11 Nov 1964
