She was born January 16, 1940 in Loop, Texas to W. C. Livesay and Ruby Clara Smith Livesay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Smith; brothers, Billy Livesay, Lawrence Livesay, Doyle Livesay and Robert Joe Livesay; sisters Frances Martin, Bonnie Flemming, Margie Wright, and Joy Hanner; and her grand daughter, Rhea-Ann.

Survivors include her children, John L. Smith, Jr. and his wife Sue; Tressa Kimbrough, Penny Kerns and husband Robert, Michele Hughes and husband Mykle, Annetta Flick, Ray Smith; brothers, Albert Livesay and wife Mary, Herman Livesay and wife Charlee, and Steve Livesay; sisters, Nita Lemmons and husband Rabit and Rose Chapman; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
