Carl A. Gorsegner, 81, of Route 3, Greenwood, died at his home on Saturday, Feb. 12, 1983.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1983 at Maurina Funeral Home Owen. Interment was at Maplehurst Cemetery.

Carl was born July 25, 1901 in the town of Reseburg, son of the late Christin and Marie (Teuke) Gorsegner. He married Agnes Poppe in Feb. of 1930 in the town of Reseburg and farmed in the town of Reseburg, later moved to a farm in Taylor County in 1934. He worked for Stewart Cheese Co., Greenwood from 1943 until retiring in 1964 and in 1974 he moved to rural Greenwood.

He is survived by one daughter (Margaret) Mrs. James Turner of Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Rose Warner of Tombstone, Arizona; one brother, Emil Gorsegner of Ferndale, Washington; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 2 stepsons, Ernest Shores of Solon Springs, WI, Frances Shores of Memphis, TN.; one stepdaughter, Irma Votova of Loyal. He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes in 1936, one daughter Iris, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
