Mrs. Wonda Joann Thompson, age 77, of Calvert City, KY, died Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 4:10 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Born June 1, 1934 in Marshall Co., KY., she was a a retired tour guide with the Kentucky Department of Transportation at Whitehaven in Paducah., she was a Kentucky Colonel, Kentucky Admiral, Dutchess of Paducah and a Kentucky Ambassador and worked in several retail shops in Paducah.
She was the daughter of the late Aaron Barefield and the late Lucy (Johnson) Barefield.
She is survived by one daughter; Terri Denise Salyer, Calvert City, KY., one son; David Dale Thompson, Calvert City, KY., seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Dale Thompson, two sisters; Thelma Lindsey and Pauline Ryan and two great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Rosebower Cemetery, Reidland, KY.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. KY.
