Our dearly beloved father grandfather and brother Lavern J Cook, 74, passed away September 30, 1987 at the VA Medical Center from a long term Illness. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He suffered for so many years and he Is now at peace for the first time. Lavern was born to Junius F and Vido Hardmon Cook In Pleasant Grove on February 24, 1913. Married Nora Carter June 17, 1935. She died October 12, 1987. He was a World War II Veteran served with Signal Corps In Pacific Theater serving his country with honor. He was a member of Provo Elks Lodge, AFLCIO, Eagles Lodge. He loved hunting and fishing building things, seeing his grandchildren and friends. Spent many years in Pleasant Grove, Provo and Sandy.
Survived by: daughter Dianne son-in-law Vic Stevens grandchildren Jeffery, Scott, Rodney, Trudy and Marry Lynn Stevens; brothers Virgil, Murray; Alvin, Colorado sister Opal Howarth, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 3, at 1 pm In Goff Mortuary Chapel 8090 So State Street, where friends may call Friday from 6 until 8 pm and Saturday one hour prior. Interment Provo City Cemetery.
