Marlyn Victor Grove of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at his residence in Blackwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years.

Marlyn Victor Grove was born on November 15, 1929 in the township of Waupaca, Wisconsin. He was the son of Albert Bringle and Violet Katherine (Batten) Grove. He grew up in the surrounding area of Waupaca, township attending school in the area and graduating from Manawa High School in 1947. He then entered the United States Marine Corp. After his discharge he moved to the Blackwell area where he went to work for the Acme Foundry and met Patricia M. Noel on a blind date and they were married on June 2, 1956, in Wellington, Kansas, and they made their home in Manawa, Wisconsin, for two years, where he worked for the Neenah Foundry, they then moved back to Blackwell where he drove a truck for McCue Trucking for a short time, he then went to work for Miller Oil Company for several years, then went to work for the City of Blackwell working in the water plant and later becoming the meter reader, later he began working for Electron working there until having to take medical retirement. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell, the D.A.V., and was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America for thirty two years serving as cub master, scout master and Boy Scout commissioner.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Grove of Blackwell, Oklahoma; three daughters, Marleda Humble and husband Tex Golay of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Carla Grove of Alma, Arkansas, and Rose Marie Grove and husband Glen Heger of Ogdensburg, Wisconsin; three sons, Timothy Grove and wife Sherry of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Michael Grove and wife Peggy of Perry, Oklahoma, and Marlyn Grove Jr. and wife Robyn of Iola, Wisconsin; fourteen grandchildren, Melissa Cline, Regina Juliano, Nichols Grove, Heather Grove, Robert Grove, Bryce Grove, Craig Humble, Erik Grove, Erin Tuck, Jared Raper, Emily Svacina, Josh Grove, Christopher Grove, and Jayna Grove; two step grandchildren, Brett Bersche, and Stephanie Bersche; fifteen great grandchildren, Tyson Humble, Kaylee Grove, Breanna Smith, Colton Varner, Courtney Grove, B. J. Cline, Trinity Raper, Jaden Raper, Sydney Juliano, Emily Grove, Jacob Juliano, Kylee Grove, Connor Grove, Aidan Grove, Avery Goulet, and Austin Goulet; and his special caregivers, Jamie Cline and Melissa Cline.

He was preceded in death by his parent; one son; one sister; and two brothers.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 1st in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell with the Rev. William Metz of Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma, and Rev. Robert Foos, Image Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

A memorial has been established at the Boy Scouts of America or the Trinity Lutheran Church c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
