Rayne - Funeral services will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. for Merella Hebert, 75 who died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in Lafayette General Medical Center Hospital.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing bingo, pokeno, shopping, gardening and going to the casino. She was known to everyone as Granny and was loved by a host of adopted grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Alexie "Tex" Hebert and two daughters, Lynette Hebert Reid and husband Randall and Debbie Hebert Hanks and companion Collin Thibodeaux of Rayne, three sons, Tony Hebert, Craig Hebert and wife Audrey of Branch, Augusto Ordonez and wife Patty of Rhode Island; one son-in-law, Pat Hanks of Rayne, a special Nephew Gerald Stewart of Indian Bayou; 9 grandchildren, Chalette Hanks Credeur and husband Greg, Amy Hebert Muse of Loganville, GA, Benji Hebert and wife Rebecca of Baton Rouge, Chelby Reid of Rayne, Alex Hebert of Colorado, Carlos Ordonez of Guatemala, Debbie Ordonez of Rhode Island, Marcela Ordonez of Rhode Island and Naomie Rivera of Tennesse, 6 great-grandchildren, Mariette Elise Credeur of Rayne, Dyllan Paige Muse of Loganville, GA, Parker Troy Muse of Loganville, GA, Keagan Hebert of Colorado, Carlos Rivera of Tennessee and Marelo Rivara of Tennessee. .
