Norma J. Fair, 95, formerly of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople. Born January 22, 1916 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth (Miller) Collar. Jean was a graduate of New Brighton High School and then graduated from Geneva College, where she received her degree in education. She retired as a teacher from New Brighton Area High School. Jean was a member of the New Brighton United Methodist Church, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, Beaver County Chapter of P. A. S. R., Beaver County Genealogical Society, Beaver County Wimodausis, and Beaver County Charley's Angels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford R. Fair, and a brother, Carl Collar. Surviving are a daughter, Jean E. and Jack Kludo, Zelienople; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John C. and Claire Fair, Erie, PA; a sister, Ada Louise Dean, WI; five grandchildren and their spouses, Terri Shidemantle and her husband Donald, Harmony; Kelly Lutz and her husband Ronald, Zelienople; Jack Kludo, NC; Laura Brodeske and her husband James, CA, and Suzanne Carlson, CA; eleven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. Private services were conducted Thursday in the J& J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, www.jjsprattfh.com. Private burial was in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the New Brighton Library, 1021 Third Ave., New Brighton, PA 15066.
