Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre for Agnes Sieben who died Tuesday, December 20 at the St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.



Agnes Geraldine Sieben was born January 23, 1913 in West Union, Minnesota to Henry and Gertrude (Proell) Ahrens. On September 30, 1939 she married Frank Sieben in Sauk Centre. The couple resided in Sauk Centre all their lives. Aggie was employed at Swift and Company in Sauk Centre processing eggs and turkeys until the company closed. She also was employed at the former Jack and Jill Grocery Store in Sauk Centre, retiring in 1978. Since 2009 she had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.

Aggie was an avid fisherwoman; fishing in the summer and winter. She baked her own bread and was famous for her homemade garlic bread sticks. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, traveling, and was always ready for a game of cards; Pinochle was her favorite game. She loved her granddaughters and enjoyed hosting them for summer vacations and considered her great-grandchildren very special.

Aggie was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose (Erv) Gorman of St. Cloud; granddaughters, Patti Gorman, Mary (Mark) Rueter, and Kris (David) Fremo; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jeff, and Bethany Rueter, Hannah and Maia Fremo; brother, Paul (Erma) Ahrens of Osakis; sister, Bernadine Van Heel of Sauk Centre; sisters-in-law, Fern Ahrens of Sauk Centre and Cleo Ahrens of Sauk Centre; and brother-in-law, Carl Ecklund of Sauk Centre.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank in 1951; infant daughter, Theresa Sieben; brothers, Lawrence, Michael, Herman, John, and Anthony Ahrens; sisters, Elizabeth Pangburn, Anna "Katie" Engel, and Mary Ecklund.
