When a small boy he moved with his parents to Missouri and has made this his home.
He was united in marriage to Annie Martin, and of this union there were three children; one son having preceded him. His companion passed away several years ago and he was later married to Elizabeth Brashear, who has also preceded him.
He has lived in and around Raymondville for a number of years and for the past few years has made his home in Raymondville.
He has loved and enjoyed life longer than most folks, for he never grew too old to keep active and interested in the things that were happening. When younger he was a farmer and stockman, having been a very successful business man.
He was deprived of the love of a mother, for when he was only six years of age the mother passed away. He is the last of a family of four.
Those who are left to feel sad because of his going are one son, Walter D. Dixon, of San Diego, California, and one daughter, Mrs. M. R. Kelchner, of Rolla, Mo.; three grand children and three great grand children, many other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 22, 1945, at 2 p.m., in the Raymondville church by Mrs. Sadie Miles. Burial in the family lot in the Ozark cemetery, under the direction of the Elliott Funeral Home of Houston.
