Paul Stephen Baernstein Age 60, a resident of Yucaipa for 30 years. He was born on February 7, 1951 at the US Naval Base VA and passed away on August 19, 2011 of heart failure. He was employed with the US Forest Service, San Bernardino, Ca 1970-1971; Cal State San Bernardino 1975; Western Ambulance 1975-1976; Springs Ambulance Inc. 1976 and retired from City of Los Angeles Fire Department 1980-2006. He served in the US Army 1971-1973 and received the National Defense Service Medal, Expert M16, Marksman 45 Cal. He received his AA from San Bernardino Valley College 1973, Paramedic Certificate from Daniel Freeman Paramedic School 1976. He was an Eagle Scout and belonged to the Harley Owners Group & LA Firefighters Relief Association. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Baernstein of Temecula; son, Michael Baernstein of Running Springs; brother, John Baernstein of San Bernardino; sisters, Janet Baernstein of Riverside, Barbara Baernstein of Ontario and Anne Syrja of Ontario. Graveside services: 10:00 AM on Aug. 30, 2011 at Hillside Memorial Park, 1540 Alessandro Rd, Redlands, CA. Reception following graveside memorial at The Mitten Building, 345A North 5th St, Redlands, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Habitat for Humanity, LA Firefighters Relief Associaton.
