She was the daughter of the late Martin and Cecilia Carter Hoehns Micka. On May 31, 1947, in Olathe, KS, she married Armin O. Emo, who preceded her in death on Nov 13, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Terry R. Emo, and his wife, Marsha, of Sedalia, and Steve M. Emo, and his girlfriend, Gloria E. Padilla, both of El Paso, TX; a grandson, Eric A. Emo, and his wife, Emily, and one great-grandchild, Erin Emo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Angie Mason Ragland.
Helen loved her family, friends and pets. Her heart was always with the Lord and the less fortunate, especially the little children. She spent ten years as Manager of Hillcrest Lanes in Sedalia and the next 35 years as the Manager of Broadway Lanes in Sedalia. Helen loved to bowl and was a Women's International Bowling Congress Certified Bowling Instructor. Helen and Ester LaBille won many bowling titles including the Missouri State Women's Doubles Championship. Helen also loved the Missouri State Fair and operated a diner named "Helens", with her family on the State Fairgrounds for over 25 years. She was also a proud member of the Sedalia Elk's Ladies Auxiliary for many years. The Sedalia Elk's Lodge was also the place where she and her husband, Armin, loved to dance and listen to live "Big Band" music with their many friends.
Pallbearers were Terry R Emo, Steve M Emo, Eric A Emo, Robert Emo, Chip Thompson and Mark Thompson. Honorary pallbearers, Millie DeMoss, Terrie Barker, Grace Linn, Jean Haney & Beth Bearce.
