Funeral services were held at 10 am Tuesday at the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren for (Mary) Edith Drake, 81, 104 S Washington St, who died at 10:45 am Friday, April 8, in Valdosta, Ga, where she was enroute to Wakarusa from her winter home in Sebring, Fla. Death was caused by an apparent heart attack. She had not been ill.
Born Jan 20, 1902, near Bourbon, she was the daughter of Josiah Menno and Ida Pearl (Anderson) Sarber.
She married Samuel Drake on April 4, 1920 and he died March 19, 1928.
She married Amos Hoover in August, 1920, and he died Sept 30, 1967.
She married Nathanial Drake Aug 9, 1968 and he died Oct 4, 1975.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs Edward (Dorothy) Maust of Sebring, Fla; two stepdaughters, Mrs Frank (Edith) Huber of Goshen and Mrs Chester (Gladys) Detwiler of Nappanee; one step-son, Charles Hoover of Goshen; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren;
four brothers, Elias Sarber of Wakarusa, Charles Sarber of Plymouth, W Adam Sarber of Fillmore and M Dale Sarber of Fort Wayne, and five sisters, Mrs Della Baker of Mill Creek, Mrs Harold (Alice) Cline of Bremen, Mrs Elmer (Ruth) Leiter of Rensselaer, Mrs Esther Holdeman of Plymouth and Mrs Delbert (Deloris) Senff of Bourbon.
A son, Paul Drake, and a stepson, Floyd Drake, preceded her in death.
The Rev John Groth officiated at the services with burial following in Bremen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Yellow Creek church of the Brethren of which she was a member.
Lienhart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
