Graveside services and interment for James "Buster" Hurt, Jr., 81, of Athens, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday in Oaklawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
Mr. Hurt died Monday, December 19, 2011 at his resident.
He was born June 7, 1930 in La Poynor to the late James Clyde, Sr., and Annie Doris Allen Hurt
He was a resident of Henderson County most of his life and was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a retired carpenter and loved the outdoors, as well as fishing, but he worshiped his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, wife Jerry Hurt, 2007,a sister and a baby brother.
Survivors include daughters, Teresa Loden, Athens, Connie Stokes, Athens, Darlene Sparks, Frankston, son, Ricky Clyde Hurt, Athens, 11 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, sister, Doris Bristow, Kerens, 2 nieces.
