Mrs. Lois Huffines Ray
GIBSONVILLE — Mrs. Lois Huffines Ray, 89, died on Sunday, March 16, 2003 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was a native of Guilford County and the daughter of the late H. F. and Grace Michael Huffines. She was the wife of the late Clarence Wendell Ray who died in 1990.
Lois was a graduate of Gibsonville High School and attended East Carolina University. She was a long-time member of Frieden’s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Brenda Ray of Huntsville, Alabama; granddaughter, Lesley Zebrowitz of Marietta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brother, Leo Huffines, sisters; Ethel Gerringer, Ruby Wyrick and Elda Walker.
The funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at 3:00 PM at Frieden’s Lutheran Church by Rev. Kristina Johnson, pastor and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church. The family requests memorials be made to Frieden’s Lutheran Church, 6001 NC 61 N, Gibsonville, NC 27249. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the local arrangements.
