Lottie Esther Simmons, 90, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Baptist Hospital, in Jackson, MS. Visitation was Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10 am with one hour visitation prior at Natchez Trace Funeral Home Chapel. Interment and a graveside service will follow at Stonewall Church Cemetery in Ethel, MS.
Mrs. Simmons was a native of Attala County and lived in Jackson for over 50 years. She was member of Briarwood Baptist Church and was a dedicated wife , mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Franklin Simmons; parents Luther and Inez Shumaker; two sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughter Diane Roberts of Jackson; granddaughter Renee (B.J.) Tatum of Brandon; grandson Joey (Jennie) Fisher of Jackson and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Briarwood Baptist Church.
