Son of Stephen Clement and Mary Ann Clinkscales, he married 1st, his 1st cousin, Sarah M Hunnicutt, the widow of Hamilton C Goza, who died of disease contracted while serving in the CSA. Her parents are William Pinkney Hunnicutt and Elizabeth Clinkscales. He and Sarah had 2 known children: Franklin Lafayette, and Theodora. He married 2nd Theodora E Boyce, daughter of Marion Y Boyce and Emily Caroline Fomby. To this union were born Seleta Caroline, Mary Cornelia, and Jennie Irene.

Benjamin F Clement fought in the Civil War, CSA, he was one of six organizers of Shiloh Baptist Church in 1868, as well as one of its early pastors. He was pastor of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church from 1888-1889. He also served as mayor of Norcross city from 1911-1912.

Rev B F Clement of Norcross died early Monday morning at his home on Holy Row. Survived by son, Frank of Atlanta, and daughter Miss Seleta Clement of Norcross.
