Jabez Ward Esqr.
who died Aug. 17th, 1786
in the 52nd year of hi [sic] age.

No lifeless Stone can tell the worth
No tongue can set true merit forth
Ye widow orphens and ye friends
Weep for your selves weep not for him
For when death comes the foul [sic, soul] must fly
