"Joseph Frank Schell, 76, of Argyle, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City Saturday April 19. (1969)
Mr. Schell was born October 17, 1892, the son of George and Anna Spellerberg Schell. He was married to Apollonia Plassmeyer June 13, 1916, at St. Thomas. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Reginald Schell of Owensville and Gilbert Schell of Union: two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Jean Clark of St. Charles and Mrs. Patricia Ferronato of St. Louis.
There are two sisters, Mrs. Ben Plassmeyer and Mrs. Hilda Wulf of St. Louis and 14 grandchildren.
Mr. Schell was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services were held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Argyle with burial in the parish cemetery."

Family details noted on page 355 of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church parish book. Marriage date listed there was Jun 20, 1916. He and B. C. Wilde were proprietors of a mercantile store owned originally by his father, George W. Schell. He and his wife lived on the second floor of the mercantile store in Argyle. The store then became known as "Schell's Store".
