Mr. Wilson was the son of Hugh and Ruth (Benner) Wilson and was born in Cromwell township, March 29, 1857 and was aged 79 years, 6 months and 17 days. He was a democrat in politics and had been a member of the Church of the Brethren for over 50 years. He was highly esteemed in his community and a reliable citizen. he served one term as county commissioner and one term as county auditor and frequently filled township offices and was a fire-insurance agent representing the Williamsburg Mutual Fire Ins. Co. His wife, Caroline Wilson passed away February 12, 1936.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Bertha Chilcoate, Rockhill; Roy Wilson, Saxton; (Ruth) Mrs. George Bilger, Mifflinburg; (Alice) Mrs. Guy Hall, McConnellstown; Esco Wilson, Three springs R.D., and Hugh Wilson, Shirleysburg, R. D.; also one foster son Earle Jenkins, of the U. S. Navy, and three brothers: H. E. Wilson, Mount Union, and A. H. Wilson, Three Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bertha Chilcoate, in Rockhill Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2 o'clock in charge of his pastor Rev. H. W. Hanawalt of McVeytown. Burial will be made in Three Springs cemetery by Reihart's funeral service.
