Floyd E. Genia Sr., 83 of Charlevoix, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Charlevoix Area Hospital.
Mass of the Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix. The Rev. Thomas Neis will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Charlevoix.
Floyd was born March 31, 1917, in Charlevoix, son of im and Clara (Shananaquet) Genia. He grew up in the Bay Shore area.
On Sept/ 1. 1939, he married the former Katheryn Rose Tookalo in Charlevoix, She preceded him in death Oct. 14, 1995.
Floyd served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a highly respected master auto body repairman.
He enjoyed gardening, nature and spending time with his grandchildren.
Floyd was a member of St. Mary's Church in Charlevoix and Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
On Oct. 19, 1996 he married Angeline Sineway of East Jordan and she survives.
Floyd is survived by his sons, Floyd Jr. of Charlevoix, and Tony (Ann) of Lauderdale, Minn.: his daughter, Carol (Dave) Prior, of Holland; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Rose Howe; sisters-in-law, Martina Starr and Dorothy Dyer; brother- in -law, Calvin Peters, all of Charlevoix.
Floyd was preceded in death by his daughter Clair Schmidt, and infant son Leslie
