She had been in declining health.
She was born Saturday, June 7, 1930, at Whitmer, a daughter of the late Henry Clay Vance and Bessie Delena Eye Vance.
She was married twice.
First, she was married to the late Tunney Pingley.
Second, she was married to Bronson Burl Davis, who preceded her in death April 12, 1999.
Surviving are one son, Frankie JR White and wife, Pattie, of Akron, Ohio; one grandson, Jeremiah Sir Louis and wife, Sarah, Akron, Ohio; one great-grandson, Zachary; two sisters-in-law, Violet Vance of Parsons and Norma Poe of Belington; one special niece with whom she made her home prior to moving to Manor Care, Sherry Louk Bittinger of Chambersburg, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Proceding her in death were four brothers, Sterlie, Kemp and June Vance and Curtis Bodkins; and one sister, Kathleen May Vance Louk.
She attended the schools of Whitmer, had worked as a factory worker for Lords GM Plant at Lordstown, Ohio, and attended the Whitmer Church of God.
She loved her family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends so much that she opened Hallie's Riverside Inn at Whitmer which she operated until 1985.
The family will receive friends at Whitmer Church of God from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Final rites will be conducted at the church Saturday, November 7, at 1:30 p.m.
Pastor James Purnell will officiate and interment will follow Laurel Hill Cemetery at Whitmer.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Whitmer Church of God, Box 93, Whitmer, W.Va. 26296 or to the Alzheimers Association, West Virginia Chapter, 1111 Lee Street E., Charleston, W. Va. 25301
