Mrs. Mary L Marcy, 82, of Colrain was brought to Franklin County hospital this morning suffering from burns received when her clothes caught fire at her home this morning. Her condition is considered serious and she was placed on the danger list.

Mrs Mary Marcy, who was so severely burned at her home in Colrain on Monday, was well known in Shelburne Falls and is a sister of Mrs Ada Davenport of Mechanic Street. Mrs Marcy, when found by her brother, William Donaldson [sic], was lying on the floor with her clothing ablaze. After first aid was administered by Dr John Cram, Mrs Marcy was rushed to the Franklin County hospital. Since the death of her husband, Mrs Marcy has lived alone, although over 80 years of age. She is the oldest member of Mary Lyon chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, of Shelburne Falls.

COLRAIN WOMAN DIES OF EFFECTS OF BURNS Mrs Mary Marcy, 82, Was Native and Lifelong Resident of Town
Greenfield, Aug. 12 - Mrs Mary Marcy, 82, who was seriously burned at her home in Colrain yesterday, died during the night at Franklin County hospital where she had been taken.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Colrain, born there March 12, 1848. She was a charter member of Mary Lyon chapter, Order of Eastern Star, of Shelburne Falls, and the H. S. Greenleaf Relief corps of Colrain.
She is survived by a brother, William R. [?] Donnelson [sic] of Colrain, and a sister, Mrs. Ada Davenport, of Shelburne Falls. The funeral will be held at her home Thursday afternoon at 2.
