He was educated in St Agatha schools and moved to Lewiston, ME at a young age.
During the great depression he helped support his family by doing forestry work for the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He was a WWII veteran serving with the US Coast Guard patrolling the North Atlantic on Convoy protection duty.
He is survived by a son Raymond Tardiff of Lewiston, ME; a brother Leo of East Hartford, CT; two grandsons.
He is predeceased by his wife Jacqueline who died Oct 15, 1996; four brothers Wilfred, Joseph, Lucien and Rosaire and four sisters Alma Albert; Eva Tardiff; Odelie Jean and Marie Kokajko. Two other siblings died as infants.
