Charles Nicholas Mamakos of Newport, who died at age 87, was the husband of the late Diane (Kutsaftis) Mamakos. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Swanson of College Station, TX, one brother, Mike Mamakos of Brooklyn, NY, two sisters, Penelope Rokis of Union, NJ, and Joanna Sarellis of Mytilene, Greece, one grandson, Mark Swanson of Houston, TX and one granddaughter, Dianne Collier of Houston, TX. He was also the brother of the late Persephone Patrellis.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, April 19 at 10 a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home in Newport followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in St. Spyridon�s Greek Orthodox Church, 390 Thames St., Newport. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Unit of Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties or to St. Spyridon�s Greek Orthodox Church.
