VREDENBURG
Aaron Lance Vredenburg was born on April 14, 1974, at Chariton, Iowa. He died on May 19, 1995, at the age of 21 years. He was born on Easter Sunday.
Aaron attended Chariton Community Schools until seventh grade. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., and graduated from Clear Creek High School in Idaho Springs, Colorado in 1992.
Following graduation he moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, where he was employed by the Wal-Mart corporation for a year and a half. In the fall of 1994, Aaron enrolled in Red Rock Community College in Lakewood, Colo. He enjoyed the study of geology and had a strong talent for creative writing. He lived in the Rocky Mountains in a home close to St. Mary's Glacier.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brandon Ray Vredenburg in 1976.
He is survived by his mother, Laura L. Short, Idaho Springs, Colo.; father, Charles A. Vredenburg and step-mother, Rhonda, of Storm Lake, Iowa. Also surviving are paternal grandparents, Ruth and Dwight Vredenburg of Chariton; maternal grandfather, Charles Grimm of Indianola.
He is also survived by half-sisters, Jabria and Jamara Short, of Idaho Springs, Colo.; half-sister, Emily Vredenburg, and half-brothers, Charles, Brady, Cullen and John Mason Vredenburg, all of Storm Lake; three step-brothers, Steve, Jeffrey and Scott Ellens of Storm Lake; special friend, Tiffany Kozlowski of Golden, Colo.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 1995, at the Fielding Funeral Home with Elder Joe D. Donald officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery. Honorary bearers were Michael Lee, Brian Pottorff, Gail Narber and Jason Evans.
