A native of Larto, LA., he lived in Buna 13 years. He was a retired carpenter and a World War II U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Alwell of Buna; a daughter, Ruby Dudley of Las Vegas; brothers, Ivy Alwell of Navasota and Albert Alwell of DeVille, LA; and a sister, Dora Mae Cherrier of Chalmette, LA.
