PFC USMC--Norma was born as Norma Dorine Hoel in 1934. Her mother separated from her father (Clarence Herman Hoel) while she was pregnant and subsequently divorced Mr. Hoel. Norma's mother remarried and the new husband adopted Norma. Then Norma legally changed her name to Norma "Jeanne" Stinger. This information comes from Norma's mother Lottie Marlow Stinger who is currently alive at nearly 102 years old (date Sept. 2016).
