Services Held For Mrs. Nellie Woods. Born in Randolph; Came to Malvern When a Small Child. - - Funeral services were held at the Mansfield Funeral home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. for Mrs. Nelle Bently Woods, conducted by the Rev. L.C. Hall. Paul bearers were F.R. Chantry, A.S. Marshall, W.D. Slothower, F.A. Mulholland, F.A. Wortman, and S.J. Anderson. Mrs. F.R. Chantry accompanied by Mrs. J.E. Ellison sang "It Singeth Low in Every Heart." Misses Mae Churchill and Fannie Clark cared for the flowers.
Nelle Bently, daughter of Wm. H. and Rebecca J. Bently, was born in Randolph Jan. 11, 1882 and came to Malvern with her parents when a small child. She attended the Malvern school and graduated in 1899. She was united in marriage to J.L.C. Woods Oct. 8, 1903. She was a member of the Malvern Methodist church. Nelle, as she was familiarly called, was of a kind disposition and loved by all who knew her. While she had been a constant sufferer for many years she never complained.
She leaves to mourn her passing two sisters, Mrs. Anna Wyant of Newman Grove, Neb., and Mrs. Bess Mulholland of Venice, Cal., and a number of nieces and nephews. She was laid to rest in the Randolph cemetery.
Attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Anna Wyant and son Paul of Newman Grove, Neb.; Mrs. Gordon Soderberg, Meade, Neb.; Harlan Wysant, Des Moines; Mrs. Byron Shay and Alva Donner, Columbia, Mo.; and Wilbur Linn, Shenandoah.
