Clarence James Bradford, 62, a resident of Elkhart since 1881, died at 7:30 this morning at his home, 302 Alfred street, after several months of failing health, developing an anemic condition. His aged mother, Mary Jakway Bradford, found him just a few minutes before death, in his bed, speechless and helpless.

The deceased, who was a carpenter by trade, was born March 21, 1876, in Benton Harbor, Mich., and was brought to Elkhart by his parents when five years old. His father, Schuyler C. Bradford, died March 8, 1932. His wife, Margaret May Books Bradford, died June 5, 1931. He will be buried beside her in Rice cemetery, following a service at the home at 2 P. M. Saturday, in charge of the Rev. J. L. Towne of Grace United Brethren church.

Surviving beside the mother are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Winterhoff and Mrs. Margaret Rumfelt, both of Chicago, and a son, Irving J. Bradford of Elkhart; three grandchildren, and a brother, Leo Montel Bradford of Toledo, Ohio.
