Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on December 13, 2011 from complications of Parkinson's Disease.

He was born January 7, 1931 in Aurora, Utah to Jim and Mae Adams. During the Depression his family lived in several Utah towns. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and learned his vocation as aircraft mechanic.

Served an LDS mission to Northern California, where he met his first wife, LaDean Healey. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 11, 1957. She died July 28, 1989. Married Marilyn Jane Christensen on June 16, 1990 in the Jordan River Temple, where they enjoyed many years of service.

John grew up around horses and dogs and animals loved him as much as he loved them. He had many jobs and learned to fix bicycles, lawnmowers, cars, and also did welding. He was the "fix-it-man" of the neighborhood.

He was always active in church, SUP, loved people and brought them together wherever he went. He had friends from his mission, all over the state, from Hill Air Force Base, where he worked for twenty-five years, from the SUP, and at the South Jordan Community Center, where he and Marilyn exercised regularly.

Survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, J. Dean (Heather); two daughters, Sherilyn (Telvin) Mills and Diane Clark (J.R.); three step-sons, Denys (Sheri) Ring, David Ring, and Brent Ring; step-daughter, Laurie Miera; twenty-one grandchildren; six-plus great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; brother, Vee (Marilee) Adams; sister-in-law, Meta Adams; and countless nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Mac.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 in the River Ridge Sixth Ward Chapel, 10200 South 1300 West, where a viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
