Mr. Anderson was born in Collinsville December 26, 1836, and was ninety years, six months and fifteen days old at the time of his death.
He was married on March 13, 1862 to Miss Josephine Thompson of Virginia, Ill., who preceded him to the grave sixteen years ago.
Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, one died in infancy and Nat was drowned in a pond near his home in 1887. Jos died several years ago and the seven surviving are Mrs. Susan Burritt of New York; Mrs. Belle Axtel, of St. Louis, and Sidney, Don and Miss Maude, Mrs. R. Guy [(Olive)] Kneedler and Mrs. Harriet Look of this city. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Anderson resided upon the same farm where he died for over fifty years. He engaged in farming in early life and continued up to twenty-five years ago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the residence, Rev. Poole of the Methodist church officiated. Mrs. Bert Long sang two solos at the residence. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers and burial was made in the Glenwood cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends of the family and the floral offerings were many and beautiful.
