SANFORD - Sidney R. Beal, 78, formerly of New Dam Road, died Saturday at H.D. Goodall Hospital. He was a resident of Mountain View Infirmary.
He was born in Shapleigh, January 12, 1900, son of Ansul and Alfreida Hill Beal.
He was employed as the operator of a portable sawmill in the area for many years.
He is survived by several nephews.
Funeral services were held this morning at the Sanford Funeral Home, 149 Main Street, with the Rev. Robert Smith of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in Beal Cemetery, Ross Corner, Shapleigh.
