Lula Coleman Woolfolk was born on August 21, 1868, in Troy, Missouri, her father, Richard, was 34, and her mother, Mary, was 23. She married Thomas Leroy Swearingen on January 5, 1887, in Montgomery City, Missouri. They had nine children in 16 years. She died on July 25, 1942, in Danville, Kentucky, at the age of 73.

MRS. SWEARINGEN CLAIMED BY DEATH
FUNERAL MONDAY FOR DANVILLE WOMAN
Mrs. Lula Coleman Swearingen, 73, wife of T.L. Swearingen, died at 3:30 o'clock Saturday morning at her home, 411 East Main street here, after an illness of fifteen months.
She was a native of Troy, Missouri, and a member of the Methodist Church here.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. George Harmon, and Mrs. L.C. Southwood, of Danvile; three sons, L.W. Swearingen and Ralph Swearingen, Danville, and Richard Swearingen, Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. Don Richter, Effingham, Kansas; Mrs. Richard Telliferro, St Joseph Missouri, and Miss Florence Woolfold, St Charles Missouri; and two brothers, Judge E.B. Woolfolk, Troy Missouri, and R.A. Woolfold, Danville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Stith Funeral Home here. Dr. Adolphus Gilliam, pastor of the local Methodist Church, Will conduct the service. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetey here.
Pallbearers will be Henry Hausman, Price Sutton, C.E. Powell, Virgil Benton, Charles Browning, and Harold Woolfolk.
