Mr. Adams, a native and life long resident of Milledgeville, was the son of the late Grover and Lena Callaway Adams He was a decorated Veteran of the Korean War and served on the USS Laffey. During his life he served his community as a Baldwin County Deputy Sherriff for eight years and later served two terms as Coroner of Baldwin County. He was an Entrepreneur and owned several successful businesses. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, Sportsman's Club, Georgia Peace Officer's Association and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Selma Fennell Adams of Milledgeville, his daughter Donna Smith (Duncan) of Macon, his son Douglas Eugene Adams, Jr. (Louise) of Augusta, his brother James Roy Adams and a sister Helen Adams Frazier both of Milledgeville, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
