SOMERSWORTH — Howard Wilson Bennett, 92, formerly of Tri-City Road, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at the Rochester Manor in Rochester, N.H.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1918, in North Yarmouth, Maine, the son of Wilson Howard and Ruth Grace (Connors) Bennett.

Howard served our country proudly in the U.S. Air Force from 1936-1939. Howard worked in retail sales at Grant's Department Store.

He is survived by his great-nieces and nephews, Beth Carroll, Laurie Miles and her husband, Doug, Charles Nason and his wife, Connie, Diane Nason and her husband, Randy Marcotte, and Rebecca Daniels and her husband, Richard; his great-great-nephews, Brian Fernald, Aaron Davis, Charles Hayes and Brandan Cail; his great-great-nieces, Reagan Marcotte and Kristina Davis.

Friends and family may call from 9-10am on Thursday, Aug. 4, with a funeral service at 10am at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, with the Rev. Robert Bennett of the Dover Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30pm at the New Gloucester Cemetery, on the corner of Route 202 and Town Farm Road, New Gloucester, Maine.
