Summerton - Walter Franklin Threatt, 71, of Route 2, Summerton, died Tuesday at his residence.

Born in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Robert Hazel and Cora McClain Threatt.

Mr. Threatt was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, owner of Manor Construction Co. of Columbia, retired president of Congaree Iron and Steel of Eastover and owner and operator of Frank Threatt Realty. He was an Army captain, veteran of World War II and Korean conflict. He was a member of Summerton Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mather Threatt of Summerton; a daughter, Robin M. Threatt of Atlanta, Ga.; and a sister, Guynell Snipes of Rock Hill.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Jenkins and the Rev. E.G. Beckman Sr. officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Davis, Morrison Davis, Wes Davis, George Jordan, Peter P. Palmer, and Carolos Webb.

Memorials may be made to Summerton Presbyterian Church.

Stephens Funeral Home of Manning is in charge of the arrangements.
