St. George, Utah - Wilda Minetta Martin, 87, passed away December 13, 2011. She was born December 11, 1924, in Port Angeles, Washington to Ruby Anna McLean and Jacob Frank Loewen. She married William R. Martin, January 15, 1965 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was raised and educated in Port Angeles, Washington. As a single mother of four, many of her working years were spent being a dental assistant. More than anything, traveling with her spouse, Bill Martin, was her favorite way to spend her free time.
She is survived by her husband, William R. Martin of St. George, Utah; children, Jerry (Judy) Gorsegner, Kathy (David) Jones; William R. Martin Jr., Leroy Martin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Earl Loewen and Jack Loewen. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Anna McLean and Jacob Frank Loewen; children, Dennis Erwin Mickelson, Allen Dale Mickleson, Ray Martin and Carl Ray Martin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary located at 110 South Bluff Street. The viewing will take place December 16, 2011 at Spilsbury Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday an hour prior to the funeral services.
Wilda had a special love for the nurses and CNA's at Sterling Court Assisted Living. She also had a deep appreciation for Apple Gate Home Health Care, especially for the tender care received from Diana, her physical therapist, whom she came to consider her own daughter
