Kenneth Daniel Beaudoin, Sr., 79, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover following a lengthy illness.

Born Nov. 2, 1929, in Augusta, Maine, he was the son of the late Leo and Modeste (Madore) Beaudoin.

A resident of Rochester for nearly his whole life, he was a graduate of Spaulding High School. He retired from General Electric in Somersworth after working there for over 40 years. Following his retirement, he volunteered at Frisbie Memorial Hospital for many years until becoming ill. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Members of his family include his wife of 58 years, Lois (Parshley) Beaudoin and their children, Kenneth Beaudoin Jr. and wife, Cathleen, of Dover, Cynthia Waterhouse of Gonic, Michael Beaudoin of Farmington, John Beaudoin and Donna Beaudoin, both of Rochester; sister, Yvonne Sullivan of Kittery, Maine, and Joan Chesnel of Rochester; brothers, Richard (Donald) Beaudoin of Sacramento, Calif., Gerald Beaudoin of Dover; stepsister, Lucille Commiskey of Rochester; grandchildren, Julie Gagne, Kelly Waterhouse and Lydia Beaudoin, all of Rochester; great-grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Gagne, both of Rochester.

He was predeceased by his son, Paul Beaudoin; sister, Pauline Bennett; and stepbrother, Leo Beaudoin Jr.

Calling hours will be held today, Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the R. M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester.
