Odie Mae Turner, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday.

Born in Many, Louisiana, she had lived in Lumberton, Texas for the past 45 years.

She had been a nurse at the St. Theresa and Hotel Dieu Hospitals. She was a devoted Christian and had attended Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School and played the piano.

She enjoyed visiting with her family and her many friends. She always hosted family functions. She loved working in her yard and it was always full of flowers and plants and beautiful rock gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Turner and her son Hershel Davenport.

Survivors include her daughters Evon Rutledge, Betty and husband Bill Gilbreath and Sharon and husband Curtis Milner; granddaughters Connie Dugue and Marsha Vick, Rita Blackman, Caroline Fowler, Belinda Hyatt, Gail Lineman and Judy Juda; grandsons Allen Davenport, Danny and Donny Hernandez, and Gary Rutledge, Jerred and John Milner and Pat Gilbreath. She had 20 great grandchildren and 35 great great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be her Great grandsons. Funeral services in Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. C.S. Davis officiating with interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
