OGDEN - Vurl Clark was called home by his Father in Heaven in his 77th year, the afternoon of March 29, 1997, with his loving wife and granddaughter at his side.
Vurl was born in Alpine, Utah, on November 26, 1919. He married Beth Hooley on December 12, 1940, at her mother's home in Lindon, Utah. They later solemnized their marriage for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

He served his country in the Air Force during World War II. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully in many positions, including a nine year calling as Bishop of the 17th Ward, and Auditor for the Mount Ogden Stake. He and his wife Beth also served a two-year mission at the Ogden Tabernacle. He loved the church and cherished all of his callings, always anxious to serve His Father-in-Heaven.

Vurl was never idle, he was constantly absorbing knowledge to better himself, and conveyed his wisdom to friends and family. Generous and caring, Vurl was always available to aid others, whatever their needs may be.

As he take his love for life and others onward, this world will know an emptiness that only loving memories can fill. He will always be Valarie's "Grampy", land greatly missed by the many whose lives he enriched.
Vurl is survived by his devoted wife Beth, granddaughter Valarie and three sons, Dennis. Craig, and Kim. all of Ogden. He will now be reunited with his parents, brother Dale and infant son Chal who preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4. 1997, at 10 a.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday.

Interment, American Fork Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at graveside.
