Rosie Anna Woodbury Checketts, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Rosie was born June 15, 1927, the seventh of eight children. She was born to Milo Thomas Woodbury and Minnie Ethyl Lemmons in Pocatello. She grew up on the Swanson farm in Tyhee, Idaho. She attended Gem State Academy, where she graduated in 1944. Her favorite subject was reading, and she was a whiz at typing 92 words per minute on an old Royal typewriter.

In December 1946, she married Cecil Craig in Baker, Ore. They were later divorced. She married LaMoine Checketts, and he passed away in 1973. She married Ron Severson, and he passed away in 1996.

Rosie lived most of her adult life in Idaho Falls. She worked at Buttrey Foods for quite a while. Rosie started her own company taking care of others. Her kind and caring heart made it a great job for her. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and even great-grandmother.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Without our loving mother, we would have not had a spiritual foundation. God knew exactly who we needed as a mother and provided for our needs. Rosie was a most loving mother, who would do without so her children could have their needs met.

Rosie had a love of flowers -- her yard was amazing-- and animals, and enjoyed fly fishing and camping with her girls.

Rosie will be remembered most for her wonderful smile. It would fill the room, and she always had a smile for everyone.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Hill-Howard of Shelley and Annita (Fredrick) Mikkola of Denver; brother, Lynn Swanson (Sachiko) of Pocatello; grandchildren, Christian Paul Rhoades and Laura Prain, both of Idaho Falls, David Rhoades and Shaunna Wyatt, both of Boise, Cody Neindorf and Ashley Ball, both of Ashton, Idaho, Stuart Lowman of Birmingham, Ala., and Lindsay Mikkola of Denver; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands and her siblings, Arthur, John, Mabel, Bill, Milo and Florence Woodbury.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Clinton Schultz officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
