He was born in Price, Utah on Oct. 5, 1958 to Shirl C. and Bessie Sitterud McArthur. He graduated from Emery High School and also took some welding classes which he enjoyed. He was also a ranch hand and enjoyed ranching, rodeo, and horses. He was a very free spirit and enjoyed traveling a lot. Shane had a good sense of humor and enjoyed being around people. He appreciated the love and concern of his parents, brothers and sisters.
Shane is survived by his children Lacie Cowley of Price, ShaLane Christiansen of Emery, and Jesse Reed McArthur of Huntington, along with 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Shirlee (Ron) Knighton of Centerville, Utah, Sheila (Glenn) Sebring of Huntington, Sharol (Don) Childs of Ferron, his brother Stuart (Carol) McArthur of Parker, Colorado, and a sister-in-law, Maureen McArthur of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Scott McArthur, and a nephew Bradley Sebring.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 12:00 PM (noon) at the Huntington City Cemetery where interment will follow under the trusted care of Heritage Funeral Home.
