Civil War Veteran of the Union Army. He wrote 'The autobiography of Commander Ringgold W. Carman': George Huntsman Post 50, G.A.R., Flushing, N.Y. A descendant of Revolutionary War hero Captain Henry "Lighthouse Harry" Lee and relative of his legendary son, Confederate General Robert E. Lee.


Ringgold Carman served in the 124th Pennsylvania infantry as a drummer boy and later transferred to an artillery unit. Mustered out in August 1865
