Fred Oswald
Funeral services for Fred Oswald, 333 W. Slade, Palatine, were held April 22 in the Tharp Funeral Home with Rev. Childress officiating. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery. He had resided in Palatine for 41 years.
A member of the Methodist Church of Palatine, Mr. Oswald died April 19 in his home at the age of 72. A former village trustee he was also a member of the Palatine Masonic Lodge; the Society of Professional Land Surveyors; a World War I veteran; he was also employed with the Milwaukee Railroad and later joined Consoer-Townsend Associates with whom he worked for 25 years. In 1948 he opened his own survey business in Palatine, but in recent years became semi-retired due to ill health. He held a civil engineering degree from Chicago Technical Institute.
He leaves his wife Priscilla; a daughter, Winifred Tillmann of St. Joseph, Mich.; a son, Charles of Palatine; two grandchildren, Susan and Mary; and a twin sister, Margaret Lange of Chicago.
