FORINASH, Sara E. -- Sara E. Forinash, 94, of Richland, died at 4:01 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Frosty Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials have been established to the Richland Volunteer First Responders and the Richland Volunteer Fire Department.

Mrs. Forinash was born July 12, 1914, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Isaac and Nellie Brown Nickerson. She married Leo V. Forinash Sept. 22, 1934, in Washington. He died Nov. 26, 2005.

Mrs. Forinash grew up in Washington and attended Washington schools. She worked closely with her husband in their service station business from 1955 to 1980. She also was a housewife and mother.

She was a member of Richland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son & spouse of Liberty Center; one daughter & of Richland; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Delores Young; one grandson; two brothers, Robert and Charles Nickerson; and four sisters, Gladys Putman, Mae Kyle, Almeta Mottica and Mary Schuler.
