BROUGH. Ralph E. Brough, 66, of 16 Norman Dr., Bloomfield, died suddenly Thursday (June 29) at his home. He was born in Castleton, Vt., March 25, 1929, son of Charles E. and Harriet (McCarthy) Brough. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Brough served four years in the United States Air Force with the 20th Bomber Wing, Strategic Air Command. He was stationed in Weathersfield, England. Mr. Brough was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 50, Castleton, Vt. Mr. Brough graduated from Castleton State College, and later earned a Masters degree from Central Connecticut State University. He taught in the Castleton, Vt., Rocky Hill, and Newington School Systems. For the past 15 years he was an employee at Kimberly Hall Nursing Home. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Mary Ella (Durham) Brough; a daughter, Denise Brough of Danbury; five sons, Kevin Brough of Chester, Christopher Brough of Meriden, Reginald Brough of Bloomfield, Robert Brough of Wethersfield, and Michael Brough of Waterbury; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Paul Brough of Vienna, Va.; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Brough of Castleton, Vt. He was predeceased by three brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be Saturday in Castleton, Vt. Durfee Funeral Home, Fair Haven, Vt., has charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Christ the King Church, 1153 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield 06002.
