Lorene Wood, age 80, died June 27, 1982 at John Knox Village in Lee's Summit.

Mrs. Wood was born in Pleasant Hill Feb. 10, 1902 to William Robert Warner and Anna May (Schindorff) Warner. She married Allen S. Wood in June of 1937. The couple lived in Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Wood moved to Lee's Summit in October of 1979. Her husband preceded her in death in 1948.

Mrs. Wood was a bookkeeper for the Mack Long Produce Co. in Pleasant Hill during the 1940s and manager of Gray's Davis Paint Store in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and the Unity School of Christianity in Lee's Summit. She was the secretary/treasurer of Royal Neighbors in Pleasant Hill, a former member of the Pleasant Hill senior citizens and a member of the Business and Professional Women.

She is survived by two sisters, Miss Lilyun G. Warner of Lee's Summit and Mrs. Hattie May Bury of Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Paul Warner and William E. Warner and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Schader, Miss Lolita Warner and Mrs. Hazel Nicholls.

Services were held at the Stanley and Son Funeral Home June 30, 1982 at, 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Coletta Whitherspoon officiating.

Casketbearers were J.R. Smith, John Nicholls, Andy Nicholls, John G. Smith, Kenneth Butler and William E. Nicholls. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
